User Testing - Rooound Two!

We turned up the heat this week with our second round of user testing. This time, we used a portable phone charger "chair" to hold up the phone and create stop motion GIFs.

The feedback we received last week in the first round of testing was that some of the movements were too bold and distracting. So, going into the second round of testing we decided to create simple and straight-forward movements, so to speak.

We tested the GIFs on 5 potential users, different than the ones we had last week, and presented them with our scenario:

"Pretend you're driving your car and have a device that holds your phone and sits on your dashboard. Throughout the drive, when you enter the car and when you exit the device performs different movements. Please tell us what feelings these movements stir up - what does it remind you of? What do you think the device is trying to tell you? What does it signify to you?"

We then segmented the test results into 3 categories of when the movements will occur in the car: "Greeting" movements, "Avoidance" movements and "Farewell" movements.

The feedback we received was that the movements were a little too "basic" and we could make them a little more interesting using different velocities.
